2.5 Laboratory test methods for coal evaluation
Lindsay Juniper (UST), Richard Sakurovs (CSIRO Energy Technology), Bob Creelman (UST) and John Pohl (UST), compiled  “Manual of Modern Coal Testing Methods”.  This Manual summarises the purpose, applicability, and limitations of a range of standard and modern coal testing methods that have potential to assist the coal company technologist to better evaluate coal performance. It is presented in two volumes:
  • Volume 1: The Manual: Sets out the Modern Coal Testing Methods in summarised form that can be used as a quick guide to practitioners to assist in selecting the best technique to solve their problems
  • Volume 2: Appendices: Provides detailed information regarding the methods discussed in Volume 1.
